This work should reach the people who need it. I also deserve to be paid fairly for it. The Green Bottle Model is how I do both.

WHY SLIDING SCALE?

Access and sustainability, together

A lot of practitioners treat the sliding scale as a discount system or an honor system with no real structure. Neither works well. People end up confused about where they land, or quietly paying more or less than they should.

The Green Bottle Model, developed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk, takes a different approach. Each tier has a name and a description. You read them, find the one that fits your actual financial situation, and pay that rate. No codes, no applications, no negotiating.

"Teachers deserve to get paid and students deserve access that recognizes the multiple realities of economic privilege that exist."

Alexis J. Cunningfolk

There are no income thresholds to verify and no applications to fill out. Read the descriptions and pick the one that fits.

AN IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

Before you choose a tier, it helps to ask: Does paying for this require sacrifice, or does it create hardship? These are different things.

Sacrifice vs. hardship

Sacrifice

Paying is a stretch. It means skipping a dinner out, delaying a purchase, or pulling from savings. Uncomfortable, but manageable. This is often where Standard-tier folks land when they're choosing to prioritize this work.

Hardship

Paying puts real needs at risk: food, rent, healthcare, and childcare. If paying Standard would do that, the Access tier is there for you. That's what it's for.

Which tier is yours?

THE THREE TIERS

Read each description. Choose the one that fits where you actually are right now, not where you hope to be or fear you might be.

Sustaining

Highest tier

You can meet your basic needs without stress. You have some discretionary income. Unexpected expenses are uncomfortable but not a crisis.

You may have savings, stable housing, and the ability to take a vacation or make a purchase when you want to.

Paying at this level is what funds the Access tier for someone who genuinely can't.

Standard

Middle tier

You can cover your basic needs, but money is tight. You may carry debt, have limited savings, or feel the pressure of an unexpected bill.

Discretionary spending is something you think about. You're getting by, but there's not a lot of room.

This is the actual cost of the work.

Access

Lowest tier · limited spots

Basic needs are a real concern: food, housing, healthcare, childcare. You may be unemployed, underemployed, or relying on assistance.

There's little to no discretionary income. Spending on personal growth isn't realistic right now.

Access spots are limited. If they're full when you're ready, email me and we'll figure something out.

WHY SLIDING SCALE?

The Access tier is real, and it's limited

Unlimited sliding scale on 1:1 work isn't sustainable. Capping the Access tier is what makes the model honest rather than aspirational.

I hold a set number of Access spots so that when I say they're available, they actually are. When they're full, I can say that directly.

I hold 3 Access Rate slots in my practice at any given time. When these are full, the Access tier closes to new clients until a slot opens up. If you arrive at a time when Access is full and finances are a true barrier, please email me to discuss options.

For workshops, Access spots are limited to 15–25% of capacity per event. For the online course, there's no cap. One more enrollment costs me nothing, so that tier stays open.

Book a free discovery call, enroll in the online course, or find an upcoming workshop at the tier that fits.
